Icelandic Sweaters

Iceland and wool have been synonymous since the first Vikings settled the island which lead to the creation of the popular Icelandic sweaters of today. The Vikings brought sheep whose wool combines the qualities of softness, sturdiness, and water resistance found in Icelandic sweaters. Below, you will see three of the beautiful sweaters created in our recent Icelandic Sweater knitting class taught by Larry. If you want to get a closer look at these beautiful sweaters stop by our shop and take a look.

June Shepperd made this beautiful sweater with a blue and green patterned collar. Becky Stevens chose pink and gray to accent her Icelandic cardigan.

The blue background color gives this sweater an extra color boost. We like the frog clasps too. This sweater was created by Florence Brown.
